Introduction
Ticketwise is an online ticket selling platform supporting B2B and B2C market. By using the platform, event organizers can publish their events, sell tickets and make analysis. Whereas, consumers can purchase tickets for event(s) by using the application.
Objectives
The objectives of this project were: pinpoint the pain points that target users face during their event searches and dig into practical ideas that effectively address these user requirements.
Problem
Hunting down events often means juggling multiple online sources like Google and various social media platforms to find event information, venue details, ticket availability, schedules, and payment. Sadly, this approach often devours valuable time, leaving many frustrated with the process.
Solution
Event Listings are customized around the user’s Location & Interests. The user does not have to navigate through numerous social app to find out events happening around them. Furthermore, everything the user needs is provided within the app including payment for tickets.
Outcome
Enhanced User Experience
Ticketwise enhances the experience for both organizers and attendees, making event management and participation more efficient and enjoyable.
Simplified Ticket Purchase
Consumers benefit from a streamlined process, allowing them to easily purchase event tickets
Empowered Organizers
Event organizers gain a robust toolset, enabling them to effortlessly publish events, manage ticket sales, and conduct valuable event analysis.

Interviews with stakeholders and users revealed how broken the event discovery process was.
To uncover the specific issues users were facing with the event discovery process, we began by conducting user research with 10 event attendees using an online survey. This helped us understand how they use other platforms to find events, identify opportunities for improvement, and validate user personas.
Describe challenges you experience with booking for events online?
paying for tickets, it should be easy & quick
Tell us how you book tickets for an event?
i search for events online. I look for its official website or reputable ticketing platforms that offer details about the event, like dates, location, and ticket prices.
What sites or apps do you use to find local events?
Google search, eventbrite(web platform), search on Instagram like using the hash tags, name of the event

User personas enabled a shared understanding of user behavior
Pain Points
Users often struggle to choose which events to attend due to the overwhelming number of options, particularly in unfamiliar surroundings. Users find it inconvenient to visit numerous websites and apps in search of essential event details such as location, date, and time. Many users face difficulties when it comes to obtaining accurate directions to the event venue. Users prefer having a direct link on the event page for convenient ticket purchasing. On occasion, users forget or inadvertently miss events they had intended to participate in due to various factors.
Personas
To capture user needs and requirements, I created these three personas:
User 1 - Active user who regularly attends events
User 2 - Non-frequent user who seldom attends events
User 3 - Organized user who attends only if the event time and date fits into her/his schedule
User Stories
With some of the pain points uncovered, I created three jobs stories for the features that will be addressed with the first version of the event app.
1. When I want to find an event to attend, I want to be able to see all the details of the event in one place, so that I can plan ahead.
2. When I want to attend an event, I want to filter based on my interest and see how many people are attending, so that I can decide which to attend
3. When I want to find an event, I want to log in to see what is happening within my place, so that I can book tickets at last minutes.
Competitor analysis
I conducted a competitor analysis to further explore the functionality of existing products and platforms and then use this to develop an improved experience in my new app design.I completed a feature analysis of 3 key apps to establish strengths and weaknesses of features highlighted during the research phase. I included in this analysis: Eventbrite app & website, Nearify app and Facebook Events.Other event apps and websites were also analyzed for ideas while researching.
Here is a list of these key features:
Based on the research and the personas created, I made a list of key features and prioritized them based on their importance and my ability to execute given time constraint.

• Push notifications.
• Map Integration (for directions to venue).
• Bookmark events (Like events for future reference).
• Calendar integration.
• Search and filter results.
• Share events with friends and social media.
• Event Listings based on user location and interests.
• Save location & interests.
• Get tickets.
• Manage payments (Add card details for faster check out).
Before design, we aligned on how we would measure success.
Goal 1
Design a modern, accessible interface that allows users to easily purchase tickets within the app. Ensure a seamless user experience where users can access every event detail effortlessly.
Goal 2
Introduce organizer mode where organizer can add events & event's tickets and can track sales and see over all stats on dashboard.
Success Metrics
Payment
'Buy ticket' button will get you directly to seat selection and easy payment, you can easily pay for your ticket using different payment methods
Bookmark and Calendar
User can bookmark interested events and have a separate list for this. App synchronises with app calendar which allows a user set a reminder.
Map Integration
Integrate Google Maps for seamless directions to the venue. Ensure users can easily find their way within the app.
Organizer Mode
Introduce organizer mode where organizer can add events & event's tickets and can track sales and see over all stats on dashboard.
User flows helped us define the overall journey for both consumers and organizers.
I designed the user and organizer flows. This involved mapping out each step in the journey, from event creation and management for organizers to event discovery and ticket purchasing for users.
Ticket Wise’s design system.
To ensure visual consistency, I developed Ticket Wise's design system, defining text sizes, colors, buttons, component states, and variables.
Final Design
After multiple calls and design reviews with stakeholders, we finalized the app's design. You can view the high-fidelity prototype created in Figma here.
